I have studied internet technologies for the past five years, and have been the webmaster and graphic designer for my current employer for over three years. During that time I have designed and developed their web presence, including the site that acts as the conduit for most of their income. I have also created print advertisements, edited and updated manuals, and conducted seminars on the software the company produces. I frequently update my immediate supervisors on the various aspects of our web presence, and have worked with various teams to make sure everyone is getting what they need from our internet technology. I am very experienced in the development of graphics using Photoshop, Illustrator, and ImageReady, am proficient in the creation and editing of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, and have implemented web solutions involving Flash, Perl, ASP, PHP, and DHTML. Beyond my technical abilities lie skills I feel are far more crucial to the success of any task or position. If there is a gap in knowledge, it can usually be filled fairly quickly with practice by any reasonably skilled technician. However, talents such as superior communication skills, innovation, self-motivation, and the ability to work well in a team take years to become proficient in. I have been working in customer service for most of my adult life, and have come to appreciate how the same idea needs to be communicated in very different ways from one person to the next.
